freelance developer projects and contracts...
We are a small company with large aspirations... how are we to
achieve these aspirations without the help of you guys, our freelancing
friends, our contractor comrades!? To keep our costs down we
tend outsource web design and application / database development work on a contract by
contract basis to people that have no objection to teleworking
and enjoy project work. This page links to some of our projects... if any suit you then, after reading the whole
of this page, send us a quote for the project including timescale
etc.
Current / recent development projects and contracts for outsourcing:
Technologies / Platforms / Operating Systems:
For most of our outsourced web-based projects we would prefer you to code
in ASP (unless stated otherwise) as your code will be running on
a Windows 2003 Server (virtual) webserver in the
vast
majority
of cases. We do offer freelance PHP project work from time to time
but unless the spec says otherwise you should assume ASP wizardry
is required.
If you are supplying graphic design services then we do not mind
what application these are developed under. Timescales for Freelance Project Delivery:
The sooner the better! However, the emphasis is on a well-coded,
working solution rather than a quickly delivered, untested hack!!
Please advise
timescales
as part of your quote for a project. Tip: your reliability time-wise,
rather than speed per se, will be a main decision-making criteria
for whether we reuse you for subsequent
freelance projects.
Prices / Quotes for Development Work:
In line with how our customers pay us... we pay per freelance
project, not per hour so please quote for completion of
the block of freelance
work
as
a
whole.
If you
need
any more info before you are able to quote then ask us and we will
clarify / answer all your questions about the offered contract.
We have a number of projects of various sizes in the pipeline
if these can be outsourced for reasonable amounts then this will
be how we will handle the projects rather than do them in-house.
If we find freelancers that are skilled, cost effective and reliable
we will use them repeatedly - please quote appropriately.
Payment / Settlement of Your Invoice for Freelance
Work:
After you have completed the freelance project for us, unless
stage payments have been agreed upfront, you should invoice
'me-too.net
ltd' for
the
agreed
amount and we will pay on 14 days. We pay our freelancers as
quickly and as reliably as we do because we want you to spend your
time
coding
for us not
chasing money and then factoring this extra overhead into the
quotes you give us for subsequent freelance projects! (Which we
in turn then have to pass on to our customers which makes us uncompetitive...
not good.)
We know cashflow is a real issue for many small businesses / self-employed
people and so we take the uncertainty and risk out of the payment
process, by doing this we believe that ALL parties win.
Invoices will be settled by a cheque in pounds sterling sent to
the address on your invoice and made payable to the person / business
named on the invoice.
Future Freelance Projects and Web Development
Work:
We want to build ongoing relationships with freelancers so we
can outsource work with confidence and with minimal
grief. What
we are looking for then, aside from the necessary skills to actually
do the freelance work (obviously!), is the following:
- Reasonable quotes for projects...
- On-time delivery of work (as per your stated timescales)...
- Delivery of work that meets the agreed spec...
- Clear, well structured
and properly commented code...
- Trustworthy... if you act in our best interests we will act
in yours.
- Ideas! If you can think of a better
way of doing something that we are proposing then let us know
and we may revise
the project specification inline with your suggestion.
Some Important Legal Info for Our Freelancers:
Any agreed fee is to cover the development of full, complete and
commented code and includes the transfer of its ownership to me-too.net
ltd for it to use without any restriction. Code / design work
that are supplied must be your work i.e. you must have sole rights
of ownership
of the code / designs such that you are legally able to sell the
code / designs.
Where work is done by you for a third party (i.e.
a customer of
me-too.net)
you agree that you and none of your representatives / affiliates
will attempt to communicate with the third party i.e. our customer
without first obtaining the express written permission to do so
from me-too.net first. Our brand and presentation in front of customers is important
and it is best that they have me-too.net as their sole point of
contact. If any of these stipulations are unacceptable then thanks
for your consideration but do not provide us with a quote.
If any of the above unlear then please seek clarification from
us before sending a quote... thanks!
